LATEST CHANGES

Welcome To PaintMaker 4.0!

Welcome to the latest version of PaintMaker. This is the largest update we've made since the inception of the site.
It includes 2 entirely new tools/pages, and a large amount of improvements to the main page of PaintMaker as well.

We've tried our best to avoid changing the PaintMaker you have already become familiar with.
Instead we wanted all the latest changes to be an improvement upon the existing design.

We hope you enjoy this latest update. Now let's take a look at what's new:

Image Split PageNEW

The Image Split page (or Quantizer page) can take any given image and generate a suitable palette that can be used directly in PaintMaker.

It also generates a quantized image, that is, an image split up into regions/layers that each use the colors of the generated palette.

You can set the number of colors, as well as many other options to make it much easier to work on your image in PaintMaker.

Projector PageNEW

The Projector page provides a full and solid working environment for artists that utilizes projectors for their work.

It allows free panning and zooming of the opened image, the image can be locked in place, you get a nice overview of your palette, recipes and more.

If an image has been split by the PaintMaker quantizer (see above), each layer can also be highlighted on the Projector page.

Bulk CalculationNEW

A lot of people have been asking us for an option to calculate multiple recipes at once. In v4.0 it's now possible to calculate all uncalculated recipes with a single button click.

You can now also select specific colors in your palette first, and then calculate all the selected colors at once, using the same button.

This feature of course also works incredibly well together with the PaintMaker quantizer (see above), as the entire palette generated by the quantizer can be calculated with just one click.

Save Project FeatureNEW

You will now be able to find a 'Save Project' button on each page of PaintMaker

'Save Project' allows you to save your current image, quantized image, full palette with all recipes and settings from all pages to a single .pmq.png file stored locally on your computer.

This project file can then be loaded back into PaintMaker, using 'Open Image', restoring PaintMaker to exactly when you saved it.

Please note that this new powerful feature is only available to subscribers.

Palette SortingNEW

With v4.0, you can now sort your palette, either by brightness or by coverage.

Brightness refers to each colors brightness. Coverage is based on each color's percent coverage of the entire painting.

To change the sort order (ascending or descending), select the same option twice in the menu.

Improved Image Viewer

The Image Viewer has received quite a few improvements in this update:

  • Improved zoom with both mouse and fingers
  • Improved quality when zooming in close on the image (Pixel precision)
  • Improved color picker precision
  • Added possibility of setting the zoom percentage directly
  • Made icons more clear
  • Fixed several bugs

Subscription OptionNEW

We've added a new subscription option for people that don't want to think about credits anymore, and want to get the most out of PaintMaker

At this time, the subscription gives you unlimited recipe credits, and unlocks the powerful 'Save Project' feature.

We wanted to make it as affordable as possible, so the price is just $4.99 a month.

Account PageNEW

The account page has been completely overhauled, and should be far more useful now.

It now contains useful information on your usage, allows full management of your subscription, if you're a subscriber, as well as more general account related options.

Added Mussini Schminke
Paint Set

Another paintset has been added to PaintMaker in the release.

This time it's Schminke's finest artists’ resin-oil colors; Mussini.

As well as many bugfixes
