Artist color data

We have measured each pigments mass tone rgb value for all the paint sets below. When using physical paint it’s important to know how much light each pigment can reflect in order to adjust your images correctly on the computer before calculating recipes from them in PaintMaker. As an example the rgb value for red is 255, 0, 0 but a red pigment like Cadmium Red Light from Winsor & Newton Professional Acrylic has the rgb value 230,55,20. Pyrrole Red from the same set has rgb 193,0,28. As you can see what looks like very bright red in real life is not nearly as bright as a computer screen’s brightest red. This can be confusing since a red with rgb 193,0,28 on your screen doesn’t look anything near as bright as the Pyrrole pigment. Note: the adjustment default setting in PaintMaker take care of most color space/ gamut problems but once in a while you might need to adjust a color by hand. If that is the case use the desaturate option to further adjust a single pigment. We have measured each pigments mass tone rgb value for all the paint sets below. These RGB values ​​are measured with a spectrophotometer. The numbers show the color space limit of the artist colors.

The colors below was measured digitally, so they should be adjusted to a smaller color space before being converted into artists' paints with PaintMaker.
